Focusing on Paying Customers Improves Bottom Line - Hawaii

print this article

Advertisers love paying customers, because a customer who paid to access your online magazine, is a customer who is willing to spend money to get what he or she wants. And who doesn't want to sell to someone like that? But paying for your online magazine must not be rendered inconvenient, lest clients become disgruntled and unhappy. Unhappy clients might forget to tell their friends about your great online magazine, and might decide not to bother. Deciding not to pay might be more of a problem if the issue of settlement is complicated and difficult. So it is natural for the online publisher to be motivated to make that part easy.

That's what our system does.

Clients pay inside your system, not requiring PayPal or any external payment processing site, so they do not get discouraged from making payments. Thereafter, the clients are billed monthly, and they do not have to provide their credit cards over and over again. If the cards are empty, they get rebilled, and reminded. Hardly any intervention is required - you just have to sit back and watch the money flow in. And the clients do not have to worry about always re-submitting their credit card or sending in fresh cheques - the system sets up instantly, and continues until it's time to stop.

What about refunds, you might ask - these are easy as 1-2-3. The admin simply changes the amount of money that the client should have paid, and processes the refund without having to go to any outside system.

What if the client purchased the wrong publication and needs to switch the subscription over? No problem - all these things are taken care of in our easy-to-use admin interface.

Do you have a deal for a particular client? Giving it to them is easy - just create a promotion code, and the client will submit this code and be given the appropriate purchase.

Do you have special pricing for certain clients? That's easy too - you can provide a rate code that changes the pricing.

Do you wish to provide a particular bonus as part of a package? Doing this is easy, as we have a special system set up for bonuses, which allows you to associate a bonus with a promotion code, and then your clients will see that they're getting the bonus when they check out, and receive it by email after the purchase has completed.

Do you wish to send renewal letters to your clients? Our system emails those out automatically.

The key word is automatic. The renewal letters go out by email so you do not have to fold and stamp them yourself. But some subscribers may have legacy accounts that are still paper-only. In this case our system provides a facility for producing paper (PDF) based renewal letters. These letters point out how long the client has left before he or she must renew, and politely helps them to make a payment.

Some clients may wish to have access online, but pay offline. Particularly corporate clients. A fully-functional offline payment system facilitates invoicing these clients by automatically sending them an email saying what they must pay offline. Also it accepts full or partial payments, and keeps on top of overdue balances.

Every part of running an online publication is taken care of. But there's more: not only is this a turnkey system that will provide almost everything you could imagine for a publication right out of the box, but it is also backed up by a motivated and ambitious team of programmers that is focused on the mission of producing the most overwhelmingly great publication management system available on the market and this means that we actively solicit and learn from your input.

It's not just that our system is great right now (and it is) - we also want to make it even better. By buying into the idea of a ready-made turnkey publication management system built by Transparen, you provide the funding that we need to continue working on this great product and making it better and better. You receive a far better product than you would have received if you worked on it yourself or in tandem with some programmer who is not actively interested in creating great publication management software for online magazines and trade journals. In addition, there is a wonderful network effect, because we attract the greatest programmers who are most actively interested in publishing and in the challenges of online e-zines, magazines, and trade journals, and how to make them more and more profitable. We share our exciting ideas with you for no additional charge and then make them real, using proven software development and quality assurance methodologies.

Finally Transparen provides a great referral network of like-minded publications that can cross-polinate your offering. Imagine, for example, if you could sell another related magazine that you admired, from your own website, and receive a commission. Perhaps the client that spent $90 on your publication would pay another $60 if you had another high-quality offering. This is possible only if the systems are compatible, and this capability brings more revenues to large and small publishers alike.
